Viewers are increasingly taking laptops to bed with them to watch their favourite programmes like Gavin and Stacey and Top Gear over the internet, according to the BBC.
Figures show that audiences are taking advantage of mobile technology and catch-up services to watch programmes at a time when previous generations would have turned to a book.

Top Gear is most watched programme on BBC iPlayer
Top Gear was the most popular programme on the BBC iPlayer this year, with episodes from the motoring series making up eight of the Top Ten most-watched shows.
The top spot went to the first episode of the 13th series of Top Gear, in which Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond raced from London to Edinburgh. The show, aired in June, was watched by 1.7 million viewers on iPlayer. Only Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and an episode of Gavin and Stacey broke the domination of the motoring show, charting at fifth and tenth place.
