Australian broadband network 'must be independent'

Terria, a rival consortium bidding to build the high-speed broadband network for Australia says regulators should not cave in to outrageous demands from rival bidder Telstra reports ABC News.

The call was made at a Senate inquiry into the Federal Government's proposed national broadband network.

Terria's chairman, former NSW Treasurer Michael Egan, claimed he fears Telstra will use the national broadband contract to crush its rivals.
