Australian iiNet copyright case provokes opposing solutions

The landmark decision by the High Court on Friday in favour of internet service provider iiNet, regarding rampant online file sharing, has industry experts split over whether copyright laws should be reformed and how urgently change is needed.
Lobby groups began pressuring the federal government to change the law as soon as it emerged that a group of 34 major Hollywood studios and television companies had failed to convince the court that iiNet had authorised the alleged copyright infringement of its customers.
