Australian internet scams cause record losses

From auctioned boats that never show up to "Telstra" phone calls demanding credit card details, Australians are being hit harder and more frequently by scammers than ever before.
According to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's 2011 Targeting Scams report, released in Sydney today, the number of scams recorded has doubled over the last 12 months to 83,000.
